Jonathan King Convicted of Sex Offenses
Former Genesis producer Jonathan King has been jailed for seven years
for sexual abuse. King, charged under his real name Kenneth King, was
found guilty of four indecent assaults and two serious sexual offences
against boys aged 14 and 15, committed in the 1980s. He will have to
sign the sex offenders' register for life and will be barred from
working with children. King, who denied all the charges, continues to
protest his innocence on his website. His lawyers said they had already
lodged an appeal to the High Court. King is now in Belmarsh prison in
south east London, awaiting transfer to another jail. For more on the

Mike & The Mechanics: "The Lost Tapes" Are Recovered...
Back in December 1995, I interviewed The Mechanics (Mike Rutherford,
Paul Carrack, and Paul Young) for a national magazine in New York City.
When the article was finally published, only a small excerpt of the 1+
hour interview was actually used in the final draft. The original
interview tape has been "lost" for almost six years, but I
have recently located it and expect to transcribe the tapes and get the
complete interview here on World of Genesis before the end of the year.
Stay tuned!

the new release date for the second half of the series, 90s/Feedback,

Japanese issue has alternate artwork from the European edition and
includes different tracks on the 70s disc (you can, however, get

Chester Thompson Offers Hands-On Instruction To Experienced Drummers
Chester Thompson will be offering experienced drummers some hands-on
instruction for two days this month. First, Chester will be holding a
Master Class at the 2001 Percussive Arts Society International
Convention (PASIC) in Nashville, Tennessee on Saturday, November 17th,
at 1 p.m. You may register prior to the convention through November 9th,
and anyone who registers on-line
receives a $10 discount. You must be a member of PASIC to attend this
event. The cost is $145 for the whole event (November 15th through the
17th) or $65 per day (membership to PASIC is, of course, additional).
The following day, on November 18th, Chester will hold a small hands-on
Master Seminar limited to 25 students. This event will also take place
in the Nashville area. This second day offers drummers a unique
opportunity to get one on one instruction from Chester and other
experienced drummers. The price of the second day is $150.00 (U.S.)
which includes lunch, study materials, and possibly more. For more
information on the second day's events click here.
** Please Note: These Master Classes are for experienced drummers
only. You don't need to be a professional to attend, but you should at
least understand basic drumming techniques. Please do not attempt to
attend one of these programs if you do not play the drums. If you do,
you will only irritate the instructors and the serious musicians who are
there (and paying good money) for some quality, professional,
instruction. Thanks for your understanding...

Genesis On-Line Shop Delayed Again Due To Negotiations With Virgin
Records
According to the webmaster for the official Genesis site, the opening of
the band's on-line shop will be faced with additional delays as a result
of the seemingly never-ending negotiations with the group's European
record company, Virgin. As mentioned previously, there have been
negotiations for some time now. The webmaster says that the shop will be
delayed until at least the second week of November and, initially, the
latest Genesis DVD (The Way We Walk) may be the only item
available. The reason the DVD for The Way We Walk is cleared for
sale on the website is because it is not manufactured by Virgin, so it
is not subjected to the outcome of these talks. More will follow...
