Details on Additional Content On New Gabriel DVD Revealed
A new article in Billboard
reveals details on the new Peter Gabriel DVD Still
Growing Up: Live and Unwrapped due November 15th in North
America. In addition to the previously announced track listing, we now
know that the DVD includes a clip of "No Self Control" from
the 1988 P.O.V. tour film (which has never before surfaced on
DVD). The DVD's second disc features a tour documentary shot by
Gabriel's daughter Ana in tandem with Hamish Hamilton. Among the bonus
features are footage of Gabriel and his band working through "No
Way Out," "Growing Up" and "Darkness" in the
studio well in advance of the 2002 tour and performances of
"Downside Up" and "Father, Son" on the BBC's Later...
With Jools Holland.

New Italian Steve Hackett Biography Released
Mario Giammetti, best known for the Genesis fanzine Dusk, has
just release the next volume in his series of biographies on Genesis
related artists. This new 336-page book is called The
Defector, and focuses on Genesis guitarist Steve Hackett. The
text is only available in Italian, but can be ordered at the link above.
Mario claims it is the first such biography on the artist (just barely
beating unofficial Genesis biographer Alan Hewitt's forthcoming English
language Hackett biography to that title!).

Nick Davis Completes Trespass in 5.1; Begins Work on Wind
and Wuthering
According to a post from Nick Davis on the official
Genesis site, the remixing of the second Genesis album, Trespass,
in 5.1 surround is now complete and test discs are being made for the
band's final approval. Work has reportedly already begun on the surround
mix for Wind and Wuthering. Once completed, all of the band's
studio recordings from 1970 through 1977 will be remixed in 5.1.
Although, to date, no official release date has been confirmed for any
of them yet.

Peter Gabriel To Play United Nations 60th Anniversary Concert in October
According to the official Peter
Gabriel site, Peter will be playing at the
United Nations 60th anniversary event to
benefit malaria research. The event will be held on October 8th in
Geneva. Gabriel will only be performing on the night of the 8th, and his
set list has not been announced. The official site states that
"Don't Give Up" and "Biko" are both possibilities.

Official Chester Thompson Site Announces Release of Roz Thompson CD
According to the official
Chester Thompson site, Roz Thompson, Chester's wife, has released
her first Christian album, Face To Face. The album can be
purchased through her official site: www.RozThompson.com.
It does not specifically state that Chester plays drums on the album. I
am currently verifying this and will post the information when
confirmed. Chester also reportedly appears on the new Frank Black album,
Honeycomb.

News Revealed On Phil Collins' Broadway Adaptation of Disney's Tarzan;
Opens May 10th
| Disney
Theatricals has officially announced a theater and dates for Tarzan.
The show, directed and designed by Bob Crowley, will begin
previews at the Richard Rodgers Theatre in New York City on March
24th in preparation for a May 10th opening. Tarzan will be
the final opening of the Broadway season as it opens on the final
day for eligibility for the 2006 Tony Awards. |
| The tuner will feature
choreography by Meryl Tankard, aerial movement by Pichon Baldinu,
lighting design by Natasha Katz, sound design by John Shivers and
orchestrations by Doug Besterman. As previously announced, Phil
Collins, who provided songs for the film, has written eight new
songs for the stage Tarzan. Other songs featured in the
Broadway version of the Disney adaptation include Collins' hits
"You'll Be In My Heart" and "Son of Man."
Tickets have not gone on sale yet, but are expected to shortly.

According to Chris Stewart, he will complete his next book about life in
Spain shortly. This will be his third book on the subject following the
critically acclaimed Driving Over Lemons and Parrot In The
Pepper Tree. No release dates are available at this time.

Nick Davis Provides Update on Remixing The Genesis Catalog in 5.1
According to a post by Genesis Engineer Nick Davis on the
band's official website, the remixing of Selling England By The
Pound in 5.1 is complete and is awaiting the band's approval before
being put to bed. Next week, Nick starts on the remixing of Genesis' Trespass
album in 5.1 surround.

Nir Z Provides Update On Forthcoming Projects
On the official Nir Z site, the new
Ray Wilson/Stiltskin album is produced by Peter Hoff and the album is,
in fact, "heavier" than Wilson's last record, which was
predominantly acoustic and melodic. Nir is said to have recorded the
drum parts of Wilson's next album remotely from his own studio in New
York.
Nir also recently recorded five songs with Swiss singer Ivo
Sidler. That project is scheduled for release via Sony Music in
March 2006.

New 2-Disc Special Edition DVD To Be Released For Phil Collins' Buster
In Europe on September 19th, a new 2-Disc Special Edition DVD package
will be released for Buster, the film starring Phil Collins as
Buster Edwards, the infamous British train robber. This DVD is
PAL/Region 2, and will not play in North America or Asia. As of now,
there are no confirmed plans for this Special Edition to be released
outside of Europe. Details on what the package includes will be provided
when I get more information.

Miami Vice Season 2 DVD Box Set Featuring Phil Collins Scheduled
for December Release
The second season of the popular '80s TV series Miami Vice is
tentatively scheduled for a December release on DVD. Among the rumored 8
discs in the box set is the episode "Phil The Shill" featuring
Phil Collins as the episode's bad guy. No pre-order information is
available just yet, but news of a pre-order should be available this
month.

New Spock's Beard Live Album Coming Soon
According to the official Spock's
Beard site, ex-Genesis drummer Nick D'Virgilio and company will
release a new double live album called Gluttons
For Punishment on September 5th in Europe and September 13th in
North America. The album was recorded on the European leg of the Octane
Tour in March 2005.
