generating some new stuff, and I will review some of the many tracks that
are in the can in some states of completion. There's a lot of material, but
very few finished lyrics or vocals." Gabriel's
New Blood has entered the Billboard Hot 100 album chart in
the U.S. at #30, with reportedly 10,200 units sold in its first week in

Peter Gabriel Talks to Rolling Stone
Magazine About New Blood and The Possibility of A Genesis Reunion
In the latest issue of Rolling Stone Magazine, Peter Gabriel promotes
his forthcoming studio album, New Blood (available in
standard 1-CD ,
deluxe 2-CD, and
double LP versions) on October 11th in North America (October
10th in Europe), and his new concert video, New Blood: Live In London
(available on
DVD,
Blu-Ray, the
Blu-Ray/3D Blu-Ray/DVD combo pack, and in a 4-disc limited
Deluxe Edition package with a bonus live CD in special packaging)
available October 24th in North America and Europe.
When asked about the possibility of a Genesis reunion, Gabriel commented, "I
did talk to those guys about it on this last round [the initial band meeting
circa 2005 in the U.K. that resulted in the Turn It On Again 2007 Genesis
World Tour]. And then it was growing into this bigger thing and I had all
these other ideas that I wanted to do, and I just thought it was becoming .
. . I could feel the suction of the black hole. I get on pretty well with
everybody – it wasn't personal issues – I just didn't want to lose that sort
of light-footedness that I enjoy now. And I don't know what the others would
want to do. Phil [Collins] has had a lot of physical troubles recently, back
problems that have restricted his drum playing, so there may be other
reasons that would make it difficult now. So I assume we won't lose any
sleep if we don't do more. You know, we had a great run. They did way better
after I left anyway. So I don't think anyone has anything to complain
about.... I won't say never ever, but it's in the outside department of the
betting shop." To read the interview,
