More Information On BBC Phil Collins Documentary Announced
As previously reported here, the BBC documentary on Phil will air
November 4th in the U.K. According to Radio
Times, the exact time will be 10:35-11:35 on BBC1. A synopsis of the
program is as follows: "A profile of Phil Collins, who has seen
huge success both as part of prog-rock band Genesis and as a solo
artist. Collins explores the highs and lows of his personal life and
charts his career from child actor to drummer to superstardom and
beyond. With contributions from Julie Walters, Bob Hoskins, George
Martin, Bob Geldof, and others."

Peter Gabriel's Up Slips Out Of The U.S. Top 40 Albums Chart
In only it's fourth week of release, Peter Gabriel's Up album has
fallen out of the U.S. Top 40 albums chart according to Billboard.
The album, which is currently #43 on the chart, fell 11 spots since last
week, and 41 spots since it's debut on the chart a month ago.

Ant Phillips Set To Release 1978 Radio Session CD
According to the official
Anthony Phillips site, Voiceprint Records are
planning to release an official CD of Ant's Radio Clyde session that he
recorded in 1978 as part of the promotion for Wise After The Event.
The radio session has circulated in bootleg form for years, and while
the original master is thought to no longer exist, this CD will mark the
session's first official release. Among the songs included are "The
Silver Song", "Master of Time" and "The
Reaper." No release date has been formally announced, but it will
be posted here when available.

Peter Gabriel Non-Album Cuts To Appear On New Soundtrack
According to the official
Nickelodeon site, the Peter Gabriel tune "Animal Nation,"
that Peter has been playing occasionally on during the rehearsal gigs
for his North American tour, will be featured on The Wild Thornberrys
soundtrack. Also included on the soundtrack is the remake of
"Shaking The Tree" featuring Gabriel with Youssou N'Dour and
Shaggy which was previously available on the now out-of-print Jungle
2 Jungle soundtrack. The Wild Thornberrys soundtrack is due
for U.S. release on November 26th.

Second Opening Act For Peter Gabriel's North American Tour Announced
According to the official Peter
Gabriel site, Hukwe Zawose will be supporting Gabriel on his North
American tour in addition to The Blind Boys of Alabama (The Blind Boys
involvement in Gabriel's tour was announced here some time ago).
According to Gabe's site, "Hukew Zawose is one of Tanzania's
foremost traditional musicians. His work is a joyful celebration of his
heritage and, dressed in elaborate traditional costumes, his
performances are an exotic and delightful spectacle. He performs the
music of his people - the Wagogo - a mix of traditional story-based
pieces, political celebration songs as well as his own
compositions."

Peter Gabriel Gives Private Concert In Colerne
According to The
Bath Chronicle, An army hangar in Colerne
was turned into a concert venue on October 17th for Peter Gabriel. The
military facilities were transformed for the first performance of
Gabriel's new show (with complete with full stage and lighting) before
it goes on tour in North America.
A small audience of family, friends, and staff were invited to a sneak
preview of the concert following three weeks of rehearsals. Gabriel,
whose Real World Studios are in Box, staged the private gig to thank
those around him for their help with the project. The large space was
needed to house the elaborate set. According to Peter Gabriel's
publicist, "They needed somewhere big enough to accommodate the
set. Army hangars are perfect for that." (Thanks to Marc B.
for passing this news tidbit along!)

Chart
In only it's third week of release, Peter Gabriel's new album, Up,
continues to slip from the U.S. top 40 Album Chart. This week, Billboard
reports that the album dropped to #32 and has to date sold less than
500,000 copies.

Phil Collins Participates In Charity Event In Edinburgh
According to The
Edinburgh
News, Phil Collins is participating in a charity event next week
in Edinburgh. More than 150 international celebrities were invited to
take part in the one-off project Building Blocks to raise money for the
baby charity Tommy’s during its tenth year.
Each of the celebrities was asked to turn a building block into a
collector’s item by putting their own design on it. The blocks will be
on display at Debenhams on Princes Street from Monday, October 21st
until November 2nd. The official launch of the exhibition will take
place on on Tuesday, October 22nd at 10 a.m.

Another Date Added To Gabriel's North American Tour '02

Peter Gabriel has added yet another date to the U.S. leg of the North
American 'Growing Up' Tour. The date in question is December 10th in
Anaheim, California at Arrowhead Pond. There has been no news of this on
Gabriel's official site yet,

Holland TV show, Later, in England and that episode is expected
to air shortly. After the Jools show, Gabe and company are off to Paris
to play on a radio show on October 24th. Then, a possible short break
before heading out on tour in North America. Levin states that the stage

An on-line music chain in Australia has posted the track listing for
Phil Collins new single, "Can't Stop Loving You." The track

of "Sussudio" is live or studio at this point, but I'm sure we

Announced
The extra track that will be featured exclusively on the Japanese

Phil Collins Promos Beginning To Circulate To The Media
Well, a few scarce promo CD-Rs were in circulation, but now it appears
that, at least in Europe and the U.S., the regular aluminum advanced
promo CD versions of Phil Collins' new album, Testify, have been
widely distributed to the media. The European advanced promo version
(catalog #PROP 05283) comes in a custom cardboard style slipcase sleeve
with the Testify logo and Phil's trademark signature (but
different artwork from the commercial CD - no picture of Phil on the
cover). I should be able to give details on the packaging for the U.S.
version shortly.

Peter Gabriel Announces Mexican Tour Dates
According to Ticketmaster in
Mexico, tickets went on sale today for two Peter Gabriel shows in
Mexico on November 3rd and 4th at the Auditorio Nacional. A third show
has been rumored for November 5th, but nothing has been confirmed at
this point. Sources say that it will largely depend on whether or not
the previous two shows sell-out.

Attack, the new television commercial for the Toyota Avalon will
feature Collins' debut single, "Can't Stop Loving You," from
his forthcoming album, Testify. A second Toyota advertisement is

concert and these will be distributed via a Radio 2 competition between

Phil Collins Gets Paid In Full On November 5th
According to MTV
News, a double disc soundtrack to the film Paid In Full is
set for release on November 5th in the States. The soundtrack features
one disc of "old school classics" like Phil Collins' "In
The Air Tonight" along side of songs by rappers Eric B. and Rakim
and Special Ed. The second CD consists of all new releases from artists
on Roc-A-Fella Records, including the Diplomat, Jay-Z, Cam'ron, Freeway,
Oschino and Sparks. The theatrical release of the film in the U.S.A. is
October 25th.

Gabriel site, advanced tickets go on sale today to Full Moon Club
members for the following Peter Gabriel shows:

The password to get advanced tickets is the same as it was for the
previous advanced Full Moon Club sale. The pre-sale to Full Moon Club
Members for these three concerts ends on Friday, October 11th.
Tickets go on-sale to the public for the San Diego show on Saturday,
October 12th and the Los Angeles show on Sunday, October 13th. Tickets

Update On Phil Collins Next Walt Disney Project
Coming
Soon!, a website dedicated to forthcoming theatrical releases,
reported a brief update on Phil Collins' next soundtrack project for
Walt Disney (known under the working titles of Brother Bear and Bears).
Collins, as already reported, is not only writing the songs but
co-writing the score, a first for him, on the 2004 feature that takes
place at the end of the Ice Age in Alaska, with action centering on
Inuit Indians.
"I thought Tarzan
would be harder than it was," noted Phil, "This one is more
the nightmare I had originally anticipated." The fact that it's an
original story rather than an adaptation "in itself creates hiccups
and rewriting situations," says Phil, who also cautions that the
film might even get a title change. "But it's coming along."

According to Billboard,
Peter Gabriel's new album, Up, has cracked the U.S. top ten
Albums Chart in it's first week of release with more than 76,000 copies
sold. Not an amazing number of sales, but a top ten album is not a bad
place to start! Especially, since the first single from the album,
"The Barry Williams Show," failed to make an impact on the
U.S. singles chart.

for October 23rd has been postponed with no new date set. More

Phil Collins' New Single Breaks The U.S. Adult Contemporary Top Ten
According to the official
Phil Collins site,
Phil's
single "Can't Stop Loving You" has jumped from No. 18 to No.
10 in the U.S. Adult Contemporary airplay charts. With a total of 1,456
plays it had by far the biggest increase of any single in the number of
plays last week, up 644. The next biggest increase was Faith Hill with
340.

Paul Carrack Announces Details On His New Releases
As mentioned here previously, Paul's new CD single and reissue of Groovin'
(now called Still Groovin') have formally been announced on the official
Paul Carrack site.
First, Paul's new single, "Where Did I Go Wrong?" will be
released on November 11th (Universal, Catalog #CDPCAR107). The bonus
tracks on the single are "I Wish It Would Rain" and an
acoustic live version of "Sunny" recorded in Berlin, Germany.
As for the reissue, Still Groovin' will be released next week and
will include five bonus tracks not featured on the original Groovin' release.
The bonus tracks are: "People Get Ready", "Into The
Mystic", "Warm and Tender Love", "It's
Growing", and "I Wish It Would Rain." Also included in
the packaging is a bonus DVD featuring "Better Than Nothing",
"The Living Years", "Eyes of Blue" and
"Tempted" live from Shepherds Bush, plus the promo videos for
"Satisfy My Soul" and "My Kind."

Slight Change With North American Peter Gabriel Tour Dates
According to Ticketmaster, the
U.S. tour dates for Peter Gabriel have changed slightly from the
originally announced dates. A second show has been added in Chicago,
Illinois on November 14th, a new date in Uncasville, Connecticut on
November 26th was added, the Atlanta, Georgia and Columbus, Ohio
concerts have been cancelled, and the Washington, D.C. and Cleveland,
Ohio shows have been moved to November 24th and November 19th
respectively.
