21, 2009 Steve Hackett's Appearance at NEARFest
Prog Rock Festival Confirmed
On Friday, June 18, 2010, Steve Hackett will perform at the U.S. Progressive
Rock festival,
NEARFest, at the
Zoellner Arts Center in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. This is the first U.S.
date confirmed for Steve's 2010 North American summer tour. Expect more
dates very shortly. This appearance at NEARFest will be Steve's second. His
first appearance was back in June 2002 and has been released as part of his
Live Archive series.

14, 2009 Track Listing Confirmed For Peter
Gabriel's Forthcoming Release
The official Peter
Gabriel site has confirmed the track listing for Peter's forthcoming
"song swap" album, Scratch My Back. The track listing is as follows:
Heroes (David Bowie)
The Boy in the Bubble (Paul Simon)
Mirrorball (Elbow)
Flume (Bon Iver)
Listening Wind (Talking Heads)
Scratch My Back
The Power of the Heart (Lou Reed)
My Body is a Cage (Arcade Fire)
The Book of Love (The Magnetic Fields)
I Think it's Going to Rain Today (Randy Newman)
Apres Moi (Regina Spektor)
Philadelphia (Neil Young)
Street Spirit (Radiohead)
The album, recorded with orchestral instruments and voice, will be released
in the U.K. on Virgin Records on January 25, 2010. As previously reported
here, it will be released in Japan on Toshiba/EMI on January 27, 2010. A
North American release date will be announced shortly. No details have been
officially announced about the other half of this "song swap" project. Once
more is known, it will be posted here.

8, 2009 Sad Cafe's Live Delayed Until 2010
Unfortunately, the CD reissue of Sad Cafe's Live has now been
postponed until January 26, 2010. No further information is available at
this time.

8, 2009 Video Clip From Ray Wilson's Genesis Klassik
Available; Pre-Order Announced
To your
right, you
can now see a video clip performance of Ray Wilson's new project with
the Berlin Symphony Ensemble, Genesis Klassik. You can also find a few others
on YouTube to get a taste for Ray's forthcoming project. A pre-order is
now available on
Ray Wilson's official site.

The Genesis
Klassik show is a collection of well known
Genesis songs, performed by
Ray, his band, and the Berlin Symphony Ensemble. Other known Genesis
songs include: "Ripples", "Jesus He Knows Me", Land of Confusion",
Follow You Follow Me", and "Carpet Crawlers."

8, 2009 Peter Gabriel Provides Personal Update on
Scratch My Back
On the official Peter
Gabriel site, you can now access Peter's latest video update as part of
his Full Moon Club (paid membership not required). In the November 2, 2009
update, Gabriel comments that he expects to "cut" the Scratch My Back
record this week. So, it appears that the new 2010 release date will, in
fact, stick!

3, 2009 Sad Cafe's Live To Finally Get A
Release On CD!
Renaissance Records have announced that they will re-release the Sad Cafe
Live album on compact disc, featuring the late Paul Young (of Mike &
The Mechanics). This will mark the 1981 album's first EVER release on
CD anywhere in the world! The reissue is scheduled for a North American
release on November 24, 2009 (the same day as the Genesis 5-DVD
Movie Box Set on Rhino Records in North America).
November 3, 2009 Tony Banks' New 2009 Reissue Scheduled
For Japanese Limited Edition Release
Disk Union in Japan will release a mini LP CD + DVD (NTSC) version of Tony
Banks' A Curious Feeling (catalog #DUPG033). This limited edition
Japanese only mini LP version features the 2009 stereo and 5.1 surround
sound mixes - identical in content to the European
Esoteric Records CD + DVD (NTSC) pressing.
