July 29, 2010 The Official Phil Collins Site Offers
Special Edition Versions of Going Back
The official Phil Collins site now offers a number of special edition
versions of Phil Collins' forthcoming covers album, Going Back. These
include a 7" vinyl single box of the album (30-tracks, including "My
Girl" live from the Roseland Ballroom in New York City from the 2010 tour), a 12"
vinyl LP version of the album (17-tracks - the same as the single CD
version), a
CD+DVD version of the album (which includes the 17-track CD and
a DVD with the album and an additional 9 tracks with WAV+MP3 files plus
bonus video content, including: "Going Back...the Home Movie", "A
Conversation with Phil Collins", and music videos for "Heatwave" and "Going
Back"), and finally an over-sized exclusive issue in a special
folder with lithographs (which includes the same tracks as the CD+DVD above).
Of course, you can buy the normal version of the CD
as well (the last of which is also available almost everywhere as a
pre-order at this point and, as mentioned, is the 17-track edition). Please note these titles
from the official Phil Collins site ship from Europe, so if
you live outside of Europe, the shipping costs are extremely high. If you
are just looking for the standard CD, its much cheaper to go with someone
like
Amazon. At some point in the future, the U.S. shop will open on the
official Collins site, but alas, its not there just yet.

July 21, 2010 Exclusive Update on Live Nation/Ultrastar
Genesis-Music.com Fan Club Audio Download
As first reported here July 3rd, Live Nation and Genesis' management
informed World of Genesis.com that paying members of the former official
Genesis site, Genesis-Music.com, would soon receive their year two 'gift'
for membership and that it would be in the form of an audio download. Today,
we have more details.
A representative from Live Nation (who owns Ultrastar) shared with World of
Genesis.com that the audio download will be available shortly - possibly as
soon as the end of this week! The actual audio content is not what fans were
initially expecting though. Rather than demo or "work in progress" versions
of Genesis songs, this audio will be taken from the band's tour rehearsals
in Toronto, Canada on September 5, 2007. This live recording is previously
unreleased and taken from the start of the North American leg of the Turn it
on Again Tour.

Genesis' management has supplied UltraStar with the audio and they will soon

special pressed DVD from the 2007 Turn It On Again tour). According
to sources at Live Nation, we should have all the details in the next few
weeks. This is fantastic news! Stay tuned... More will be posted here when
