Steve Hackett To Appear At
"Dusk Day" in Italy
On September 20th in Orvieto, Italy, Steve Hackett will make a rare
appearance at "Dusk Day," a Genesis fan event sponsored by the
Dusk fanzine.
Steve will be joined by his brother and long-time collaborator John Hackett
for a question and answer session with fans (they will not be performing).
If you happen to be in Italy, this is something no Genesis fan should miss!

You can now pre-order the highly anticipated Genesis
1970-1975 SACD + DVD box set featuring the studio albums from
Trespass through The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway. As with the
1976-1982 and the
1983-1998 SACD + DVD box sets, they included newly remixed stereo
and 5.1 surround sound plus rare video footage. The track listing for the
box set is below. Please note that the U.S. version (which is CD + DVD) is
not available for pre-order yet, but should be in the next few weeks. To
order the U.S. CD + DVD versions of 1976-1982 and 1983-1998
(which are less expensive than the SACD versions) and to get other Genesis

Peter Gabriel and U2's The Edge
Launch Small Places Tour
In support of Amnesty International, Peter Gabriel and U2's The Edge have
signed on as spokespeople for the Small Plces Tour. The tour will go from
September 10th through the 60th anniversary of the Declaration of Global
Human Rights on December 10th. The tour is described as "the
most ambitious global music and human rights project since 1988's Human
Rights Now Tour which also featured Gabriel among other notable acts. Click

Steve Hackett to perform in concert
with Djabe
Steve Hackett with make a rare guest appearance at three shows with the jazz
fusion band Djabe in Hungary, Latvia, and Romania this month. For more

Tony Banks' A Curious Feeling Album to be Remixed in Surround Sound
According to a post by Nick Davis on the
official Genesis
site's forum, he may begin working on a 5.1 surround sound remix of Tony
Bank's debut solo album, A Curious Feeling. There has been no further
information announced about the release, but 2009 will mark the 30th
anniversary of the album's original release.

Ray Wilson Announces New European Tour Dates
On the official Ray
Wilson site, Ray has announced new European tour dates though October of
this year. As previously reported here, Ray's new album is anticipated for
release in the late summer or early fall.

Peter Gabriel Makes An Appearance At Mandela Concert; Promotes New Project

Peter Gabriel made a brief appearance at Nelson Mandela's 90th birthday
46664 Concert on June 27th. Gabriel did not perform at the event, but
introduced Emmanuel Jal, a world music artist from the Sudan who Gabriel
describes as having "the potential of a young Bob Marley." Jal's new single
"Emma" will be released on
iTunes on July 22nd and is featured on his new album, War Child,
which has not yet been released in North America.
