2010 Chester Thompson talks about Phil's New
Solo Project; Hall of Fame Ceremony
On January
10th, at a Calgary, Canada drum clinic, Chester Thompson recently
discussed the status of Genesis' possible intentions about performing at
the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony in New York City in
March.
Chester explains
that due to injury, Phil was forced to tape his drum sticks to his hands
in order to play drums on his forthcoming solo album of Motown cover
tunes. In Chester's opinion, its doubtful that Phil Collins will want to
do a performance at the Hall of Fame in his present physical condition.
Of course, this is not an official statement from the band, but that
combined with Peter Gabriel's comments earlier this month about
not performing at the event, don't seem to be good indicators of any kind of
Genesis live reunion for their induction. To watch Chester Thompson explain
his opinion about the Hall of Fame induction, watch the clip to the
right of this text.

Peter Gabriel Says He Has No Plans To
Reunite With Genesis on Stage For Hall of Fame Induction
In a new interview with
Rolling Stone
Magazine, Peter Gabriel goes on record about his intentions for a
possible Genesis reunion. “As far as I know, I’m definitely not going to
sing,” Gabriel tells Rolling Stone. “I learned at our last reunion
[in 1982] that you can’t just get up there. You have to rehearse.” Gabriel
is actually not even positive he’ll be able to attend the March 15th
induction ceremony in New York, since he’ll be in the midst of rehearsing
for a European solo tour. “I’m trying to find a way to do it,” he says.
“It’s not easy. If I can work it out, I’ll go.” To date, there has been no
official statement from Genesis about their intentions of performing at the
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony this March.
