Information on New Steve Hackett Album Announced!
As previous announced
here, Steve Hackett will soon release
Metamorpheus
(pictured right), a classical album featuring orchestra and guitar.
Credited as Steve Hackett and The Underworld Orchestra, the album
is based around the Greek myth of Orpheus and his adventures in
the Underworld. The European release date
for the album is tentatively set for March 28th with a U.S.
release to follow in early April (Camino/Inside Out #CAMCD35/SPV
085-40882).

Phil Collins Deluxe 2 CD + DVD version of Love Songs To Be
Released In Europe
Just in time for Valentine's Day, A deluxe edition of Phil Collins' Love
Songs CD with a bonus 5-track DVD will be released in Germany on
February 2, 2005. This DVD is allegedly not compatible with North
American DVD players.

Details Announced For New Mike And The Mechanics DVD
The European release date for the forthcoming Mechanics DVD, Mike And
The Mechanics With Paul Carrack -
Live At Shepherds Bush, is set
for March 7th in the U.K. While no North American release is
confirmed yet, Mike Rutherford shared with World of Genesis.com in
a
recent interview that a U.S. release is in the works. Reportedly,
the DVD will be released in North America on March 8th.
Among the added features on this concert DVD are:
- An extensive interview with Mike
Rutherford and Paul Carrack talking about the history of the band,
life on tour, and their feelings about playing on after the death of
Paul Young.
- The original promo videos for the
songs: "Silent Running (On Dangerous Ground)", "The
Living Years", "Word Of Mouth", "Over My
Shoulder", "Beggar On A Beach Of Gold", "Another
Cup of Coffee" and "One Left Standing."

New Phil Collins Biography Released In Italy
Mario Giammetti has just released a new Phil Collins biography, The
Singing Drummer, in Italy. The 346-page text also includes an
updated discography, including side-projects and guest appearances, and
is currently available exclusively in Italian. Like his Genesis book,
Genesis: il fiume del costante cambiamento, I
will bet that it's incredibly well done if you happen to be able to read

Platinum Collection - Delayed Again!
Unfortunately, on Monday (the day before it's newly rescheduled release
date), Genesis' forthcoming anthology, The
Platinum
Collection, was delayed until March 29th (the same date as the
Genesis Video
Show DVD) in North America. Luckily, The
Platinum Collection is already available as a European import!

Lamb 5.1 Remixed Reissue Due In April
According to a recent post on the official
Genesis site's Forum by Nick Davis, the band's engineer, the 5.1
multi-channel remix of The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway will be
released on April 18th in SACD format in Europe (North America is
rumored to be getting the DVD-Audio format).

Peter Gabriel Set For On-Line Chat On Monday
On Monday, January 24th, at 3:00 p.m. U.S. Pacific Time (6:00 p.m.
Eastern Time), Peter will be participating in a live on-line chat with
MSN.
Please note: MSN does not offer Chat in the UK (So, you're out of luck
if you live there, I suppose).

New Ray Wilson Live Album Due In March
On March 1st, Ray Wilson will release a double live album,
Ray Wilson
Live. The independent release will include 32 tracks including 11
songs as Ray puts it "from The World of Genesis" plus songs
from Stiltskin, his solo albums, and a special acoustic set. Joining Ray
on this set are: Irvin Duguid: Keyboards (Stiltskin, Fish, Gun), Steve
Wilson: Lead Guitar (Cut), Lawrie MacMillan: Bass, and Ashley MacMillan:
Drums.

Steve Hackett To Release New Classical Album
According the Steve Hackett's management, Steve will release a new
classical album for orchestra and guitar this spring. More information
on this release should follow shortly.

Checking Out Of London Available For Pre-Orders
You can now pre-order the new John Hackett rock album,
Checking Out
of London (Hacktrax, catalog # HTRX-002), which is scheduled for
release on February 7th in Europe. Pre-orders are being taken through
Camino Records site (as mentioned previously, brother Steve happens to
play on some of the tracks on the album).

Chester Thompson Returns To The Studio
According to the official
Chester Thompson site, Chester is recording with Shemekia
Copeland. This new album will be Copeland's fourth for Alligator
Records. Steve
Cropper is producing the project, but no confirmed release date is
known at this time. Stay tuned for details!

Nick D'Virgilo's Band Prepares For New Album and Tour
Fans of the former Calling All Stations drummer will be pleased
to know that his band, Spock's Beard, are releasing their 8th studio
album, Octane,
on January 31st in Europe and February 1st in North America. The album's
release kicks off with a brief March European tour followed by some U.S.

Genesis' Video Show DVD Finally Gets a Confirmed North American
Release Date
While the Platinum Collection title for the DVD that was going to
be specific to the U.S. version is gone, an official release date under
the more common title for this video collection is now known. Now
re-titled Video Show, this long-awaited DVD will be available in
North America on March 29, 2005. Click here
