Nick Davis Provides An Update on the
Genesis Reissued Back Catalog
According to a post Nick Davis made in the Forum on the official Genesis site,
the following is now confirmed for the newly remixed and remastered Genesis back
catalog:
FORMATS:
NORTH AMERICA: CD + DVD (NTSC)
SOUTH AMERICA: SACD + DVD
JAPAN/ASIA: SACD +
DVD (NTSC)
EUROPE:
SACD + DVD (PAL)
Nick added, "The DVD will have DTS and Dolby Digital 5.1 plus the single videos
(of that album) plus new interviews with the band. The hybrid SACD will have CD
stereo, high resolution stereo and the 5.1 mix. The albums will be sold
separately - except the extras disc - there will be a 'box' for each release
which will have all the albums in plus the extras disc set. There are
territories which will have hybrid SACD and DVD-V (NTSC) for those that are
interested. The DVD is not region encoded."
While some of this news has been announced (both here and other places)
previously, this is the most complete information on the new back catalog titles
to date. The first batch of reissues, due in March in Europe (North America
release dates have yet to be confirmed), are the studio albums from Trick of the Tail through
Abacab.
