Carrack To Perform At Charity Concert In Sheffield
According to the official Paul
Carrack site, Paul will be appearing at the Sincerely Sheffield charity
concert at the City Hall in Sheffield, England on Friday March 12, 2004.
Among the other acts scheduled to perform are John
Parr and Def Leppard's Joe Elliott and Rick Savage. For more information

Mike & The Mechanics Release Date Confirmed
According to a post to the Forum on the official
Genesis site, the Genesis Webmaster acknowledged that the new Mike
& The Mechanics studio album is tentatively set for release in May
2004. Hopefully, more will be revealed on this release in the coming
weeks.

46664 Benefit Concert Scheduled For CD/DVD Release In April
As the official Queen site
posted back in late January and more recently on the 46664
website, the 46664 concert featuring Peter Gabriel, Beyoncé, Bono,
Queen, The Eurythmics, and many others is set for release on DVD and CD
on April 5th. The CD set is 3 CDs and includes Peter Gabriel with
Youssou n'Dour and Angelique Kidjo performing "In Your Eyes"
and Gabriel with Yusuf Islam on a cover version of "Wild
World" by Cat Stevens. The double DVD features these songs plus
"Biko" performed by Gabriel with Youssou n'Dour.

Gabriel Confirms The Planned Release of So In 5.1; News on
New Solo Album Revealed!
According to a new interview with Peter Gabriel in the February issue of
Hi-Fi Choice (pages 24 and 25 for those who pick up the issue), Pete will
be working on a new 5.1 mix for his classic So album! He also mentions that other multi-channel
reissues may be done in the future.
When asked about a new solo album, Gabriel commented, "There's
quite a lot of stuff we've recorded already, and I'd also like to try
something very empty. I tend to always fill up my arrangements."

Gabriel To Perform Benefit Gig In Rhode Island; Daughter To Premier Film

According to Indie
Wire, The Newport International Film Festival announced that it is
kicking off its 2004 season on March 5th with a benefit concert by Peter
Gabriel at a private estate outside Newport, Rhode Island. According to
the Newport
Daily News, Gabriel will perform solo (without his band) at the
event.
Gabriel's daughter, Anna, will premiere her first film, "Growing
Up, on Tour" at the fundraiser. The film looks at her perspective
on her dad's career. Proceeds from the evening ($500 a head including
cocktails and dinner) will benefit the festival at Witness, a charity

Hackett to Perform Acoustic Set and Interview On BBC Radio
According to the official Steve
Hackett site, Steve will be the guest of Bob Harris (who's standing
in for Richard Allinson) on BBC Radio 2 on Tuesday, February 17th. The
show starts at 10:30 p.m. UK time (approximately 5:30 p.m. EST). Steve
should be on from 10:45 p.m. (5:45 EST) for around 40 minutes. The show
will include a mix of chat and solo acoustic performances. If you live
outside the UK, you can access the show on-line by clicking here

Brother Bear 2-DVD Set Now Available For Pre-Order
On March 30th, Walt Disney Home Video will release a two-disc Special
Edition DVD, VHS, and a second VHS pressing (dubbed in Spanish) for Brother
Bear in North America. As most of you know, the film features music

Guitar Wars Released In Japan; Special Edition with DVD Also
Available
Guitar
Wars, a performance featuring Steve Hackett, Paul Gilbert (from the
band Mr. Big), Nuno Bettencourt (from the band Extreme) and John Paul
Jones has recently been released in Japan on CD (Universal, catalog #
UICE-1070). The show was recorded in Japan in 2003 and there are no
plans for a U.S. or European release.
There is also a Japanese only limited "Special Edition"
pressing which also features a NTSC/Region 2 DVD from the event! The
Guitar Wars Special Edition (UICE-1073) is also available now!

Paul Carrack Featured On Spanish Remake of "Eyes Of Blue"
The new album by Joan Tena, Cosas Que Pasan (Vale Music, catalog
# VLCD 249-1), features a cover version of Paul Carrack's "Eyes of
Blue." The remake, "Mirada Azul," is actually a duet with
Carrack himself! There is no planned U.S. release at this time.

Ant Phillips' Archive Collection Volume 2 Nears Completion
According to the official
Anthony Phillips site, the work to compile Archive Collection
Volume 2 is nearly complete, with artwork, track information and
some track titles currently being worked on and final mastering due to
take place in early February. As previously mentioned, the set is
a 2-CD collection, and it can now be confirmed that it will contain 36
previously unreleased recordings (a mixture of previously unheard pieces
alongside alternate versions and different mixes of known tracks) made
between 1971 and 1988, with a total playing time of over 2 hours.

Italian and German Versions of Phil Collins' Brother Bear To Be
Released (Finally!)
It seems strange that it has taken so long, but the Italian (catalog #
5050466 79162) and German (catalog # 5050466 82932) language versions of
Phil Collins' Brother Bear soundtrack have finally been
rescheduled for release on February 20th in Europe according to Warner
Music. The releases have been pushed back several times. Hopefully,
this release date will actually stick!

Peter Gabriel Joins Forces With Brian Eno To Form MUDDA
According to a report from BBC
News, Peter Gabriel has joined forces with Brian Eno to form MUDDA
(Magnificent Union of Digitally Downloading Artists). The purpose of
MUDDA is to serve as a collective voice for recording artists in the
digital age. Gabriel spoke at the World Economic Forum in Davos where he
addressed topics on copyright issues and digital downloading.
