New Book on Album Artwork Features Introduction by Peter Gabriel
A new book,
Album Cover Album, has been released which showcases the artwork of
classic album art work for various albums released between the 1950s and the
1970s. The 160-page hardcover, full color coffee table style book is edited
by album cover artists Roger Dean and Storm Thorgerson and includes a new
forward by Peter Gabriel, John Wetton, and Storm Thorgerson. Among the many,
many album covers featured includes covers for albums by Yes, The Rolling
Stones, ELP, King Crimson, The Grateful Dead, Frank Zappa, The Who, Cat
Stevens, Pink Floyd, The Nice, and many others (surprisingly, none of
Thorgerson's covers for Peter Gabriel's first three solo albums or his album
art for Genesis' The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway were included).

Plenty of New Releases and Reissues Featuring Chester Thompson Released
Since completing the Genesis 2007 Turn It On Again Tour, Chester
Thompson has arguably been one of the most active musicians connected with
that tour. New albums released featuring Chester Thompson on drums include:
Garnet Mimms'
Is Anybody Out There?, Denny Jiosa's
Dreams Like This, Steve Cropper (of the Blues Brothers) and Felix
Cavaliere's (of The Animals)
Nudge It Up A Notch, and the reissue of Freddie Hubbard's long out
of print 1979 album,
Love Connection. There is reportedly additional studio session work
that has yet to be released. It sounds like we have more to look forward to
in 2009!

Phil Collins' Management Announces Closing of His Official Website
It is with great regret, that I report that the
Official Phil
Collins site will be closing. This was announced on December 10th with
the post below on the official site:
___________________________________________________________________________________________
"I
have been asked by Phil's management to let all forum members know that they
plan to close down both the Phil Collins web site and the forum at a date in
the near future yet to be determined.
Activity on the web site and, more recently, on the forum has been in steady
decline over the past couple of years and it has been decided that there is
little point in having separate Genesis and Phil Collins web sites. Some of
the information on the PC site will be transferred to the
Official Genesis Web Site
and PC forum members are
encouraged to join (if not already members) the
Genesis forum on that site.
I am sorry to be the bearer of such tidings.
I wish all PC fans well in the future and hope that you enjoyed yourselves
here for at least some of the time.
Cheers and goodbye.
PC Webmaster"

Phil's web presence will live on through the official Genesis site as
mentioned above. No official closing date has been announced yet.
