What's the Deal with the Amazon
"Exclusive" CD-R issue of Phil Collins' Going Back?
Many people have noticed that Amazon in the U.S.A. is offering an
"exclusive" edition of Phil Collins' new album, Going Back.
Here's the scoop: It is a CD-R pressing (not a pressed CD) of the 25-track
version of the album. The track listing will allegedly be identical to the
25-track pressed Japanese CD and the expanded 25-track version of the
album on the imported
CD+DVD set. Now, your not getting the DVD content that you would have
gotten with the CD+DVD version, but its also presently the cheapest way to
get the 25-track version of the album (if you don't mind a professionally
issued CD-R copy instead of a pressed aluminum CD).

making of the Going Back album! Also of note, the second segment
includes an except of Phil singing The Supremes' "You Keep Me Hanging On" in
his home studio which did not make the single CD version of his final album.

Update on Ray Wilson's Forthcoming Album
World of Genesis.com recently had a chance to catch up with Ray Wilson about
this activities in the studio. Ray tells us that his next album should be
out around September of next year. Wilson is currently writing and refining
many of the songs that will be featured on the project. Ray describes the
album as "more of a Stiltskin CD this time," so it sounds like he's going
for that harder rock sound exemplified on Stiltskin's last studio album,
She (which is a highly recommended album,
by the way!). Hopefully, we'll hear more about this new album from
Ray in the coming months. For more general information on his career or for

Details on Phil Collins Going Back
Concert DVD/Blu-ray Announced
| While the North American
pre-order isn't available quite yet, we know know that the European
release date for Phil Collins' forthcoming video is November 1, 2010.
Hopefully, the North American date will be close to that (we shall know
soon enough!). The DVD and Blu-ray (the Blu-ray is pictured to your
right) will include the complete 26-songs performed at the Roseland
Ballroom in New York City this past June along with behind-the-scenes
rehearsal footage and interviews. The video offers DTS HD Master Audio,
Dolby Digital 5.1, LPCM Stereo. We should have more information on the
North American edition in the next two weeks. Stay tuned! |

Official Genesis Site/UltraStar Finally
Release Fan Club Download
Well, it took a bit longer than we all expected, but the Official Genesis
Site has finally offered its members the long-awaited download "gift" for
the second year of paid membership from 2008. As reported here first, its is
the Canadian rehearsal date from Toronto on September 5, 2007.

The Genesis Suite Lies Down On
Barbican Hall
The London Symphony Orchestra conducted by Tolga Kashif will perform the
Genesis Suite at
Barbican Hall in London on October 11th. There is also a CD in the works
of the Genesis Suite. Details on the CD will follow soon.

Atlantic Records Releases Promo Video in
Support of Phil Collins' Going Back
Atlantic Records has unveiled a promotional video clip for Phil Collins
version of "(Love Is Like A) Heatwave" which is taken from the forthcoming
album,
Going Back. There has also been a 2-track commercial CD-single
announced in Germany for the song (release date: August 27th), so it appears
that "Heatwave" will be the first single world-wide for this new album. While I've
not received the promo video yet (and it's not on YouTube), you can hear Phil's new version of the song
here.
