Gabriel To Appear On Soundtrack To The Alchemist & New Video
Game
According to Film Web,
Peter Gabriel will appear on the soundtrack to the forthcoming film, The
Alchemist. Laurence Fishburne will write, direct, and star in the
film, which is an adaptation of the popular novel by Paulo Coehlo. The
Warner Brothers project follows the journey of self-discovery undertaken
by a traveler (Fishburne) who ventures beyond his borders in Spain
during the Inquisition, trying to understand man's purpose on the
planet. The film has not yet been rated, but is scheduled for release
later this year. More on what exactly Gabriel did for the project should
be available soon.
For those who simply can't wait until the soundtrack's release for new
Gabriel music, you can also find a new version of Peter's

Peter Gabriel Offers 'Revelations' In New Classic Rock Magazine
Interview
In the August 2004 issue of Classic Rock Magazine (#69), a new
interview with Peter Gabriel sheds light on his solo career and his days
with Genesis. This great interview has some surprisingly candid comments
about his rushed second solo album and the recording of Genesis' The
Lamb Lies Down on Broadway. In the interview, it reveals the Gabriel
actually quit Genesis during the recording of the album when he was
denied time off to go work with William Friedkin and was coaxed back by
their management to finish the album! It later talks about his apparent
second resignation from Genesis during the tour for the album and how he
felt like a fraud keeping silent about his quitting the band for six
months until it became public news. It is an amazingly good interview,
and not one to be missed! Highly recommended!
