Peter Gabriel To Appear On Forthcoming Jools Holland Album
According to the official
Jools Holland site, Peter Gabriel has committed to performing on the
forthcoming Jools Holland album. Among other artists intended to appear
are Eric Clapton, Share McGowan, Smokey Robinson, Ringo Starr, Michael
McDonald, BB King, and Herbie Hancock.

Chester Thompson Announces Live Gigs In The USA
According to a post from Chester on his
official site, there are two up-coming gigs for North American fans:
The Franklin Jazz Festival will happen on August 30 and 31, 2003 in
Franklin, Tennessee. On the 31st, Chester Thompson will perform and
admission is free. Show show takes place at The Factory on Franklin Road
south of Mack Hatcher.
Then, on September 8, 2003 Chester will kick-off the Belmont University
Faculty Concert Series in Nashville, Tennessee. The event will be
at the Massey Performing Arts Center at 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Chester will perform with artists like Kirk Whalum, Rod McGaha and Jeff
Kirk as a horn section. Chester's son, Akil Thompson, will also
perform on guitar.

will be releasing a new digitally remastered anthology for Ace, called The

Phil Collins Working With Tina Turner On Brother Bear
According to Billboard,
Phil Collins is working with Tina Turner on "Great Spirits,"
the opening song from the forthcoming Walt Disney movie, Brother Bear.
The soundtrack will be released in the U.S. on October 21st. The film
itself will be released on October 26th in New York and Los Angeles and
get wide release in theaters on November 1st.

Peter Gabriel DVD Single For "Growing Up" Released
It's release may not be reflected on the European Amazon websites, but
Gabriel's "Growing Up" DVD single has been released (mine just
arrived today!) somewhere in Europe (I don't know where exactly, because
the DVD single does not say). As previously reported, this is a R2 DVD, so
it will not play in North America (with the exception of on your PC
with you have a DVD-ROM drive).

On September 8th in Europe, Squeeze's Greatest Hits - Classic Cuts
video (Universal, catalog # 98107218)
will be released on DVD. This DVD
is Region 2, which means that it will not play on most North American
DVD players. The 16-track DVD is remastered in 5.1 surround sound and

Hackett Plays Acoustic In Philly
I had an opportunity to check out Steve's acoustic performance in

Hackett To Participate In "Guitar Wars" In Japan
According to the official Steve
Hackett site, Steve will be traveling to Japan towards the end of
August to participate in the Guitar Wars event. This is being presented
in Tokyo and Osaka by Universal Music (Steve's label in Japan) and Udo
Artists (Japan's leading promoter) in conjunction with The Hard Rock
Cafe's 20th anniversary in Japan. Other confirmed participants to date
are Paul Gilbert and Nuno Bettencourt with the possibility of one more
guitarist yet to be announced. The band will consist of our very own
Roger King on keyboards with King Crimson's Pat Mastelotto on drums and
Mike Szuter of The Szuters on bass. There is talk about filming the
event as well. More on this when available.
